(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump discussed by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday efforts to ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear, according to a White House statement.
White House National Security Advisor John Bolton on Monday said the United States will keep increasing pressure on Iran until it abandons its pursuit of nuclear weapons and ceases its violent activities in the Middle East.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier warned that Iran's move to raise its uranium enrichment level will result in further isolation and sanctions.
Macron sent his chief diplomatic adviser to Iran following its decision to enrich uranium beyond the level agreed in 2015 nuclear accord.
