In an interview with VOV marking the 232nd France National Day (July 14), Ambassador Warnery briefed on the key ongoing cooperative projects.
He said, “Our strategic and outstanding cooperative project is the Hanoi metro line in terms of the French government’s funding (590 million USD) and the number of French companies involved. Our second biggest project is the Cai Mep deep water seaport in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province which has been operational since January. The agreement signed between the EU and Vietnam gives us the golden chance to develop logistics services. We also find seafood production lucrative."
"France is sponsoring several studies conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on agricultural resources. Electronic administration is another pillar of cooperation. France is helping the Vietnamese Government Office go paperless in administrative procedures.”
According to Ambassador Warnery, this year, France plans to jointly organize the celebration of 30-year France-Vietnam defense cooperation and improve the training of teachers of French in Vietnam’s schools.
