After landing, President Macron spoke to Lebanon's President Michel Aoun and visited the explosion site in Beirut. According to France's Élysée Palace, Mr. Macron’s visit would bring the Lebanese people a message of solidarity from the French. The French President also wants to reject the idea that Lebanon is being self-isolated and is being plunged into a political and economic downturn. The Élysée Palace said the visit is expected to lay a foundation for an agreement to rebuild Lebanon in the future.
