(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on Tuesday launched a fund-raising campaign to help victims of storm Damrey.

VFF President Tran Thanh Man called for donations from the general public and social organizations to help the victims quickly restore production and stabilize their lives. The People’s Committee of Hai Phong City donated 450,000 USD, while staff and workers of the VFF donated at least one day’s salary.
Storm Damrey, which made landfall on Vietnam’s central coastal region on the weekend, killed 44 people, left 19 missing, and ruined 1,300 houses.
