Funds raised for flood victims in central region
(VOVWORLD) - The UN’s flood response plan raises 40 million USD to assist 177,000 of the most vulnerable flood victims in Vietnam’s central region. The 6-month plan addresses immediate humanitarian needs and carries out several early recovery activities.

The plan was released on Wednesday by the United Nations Resident Coordinator and the Country Director of Save the Children on behalf of the Disaster Management Group to help victims in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai.

The same day, Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Elsbeth Akkerman announced that the Dutch Government will provide an aid package worth 2.34 million USD for Vietnamese flood victims. The aid will provide clean water, food, and cash, and enable them to recover livelihoods.
