(VOVworld) – The G7 Summit, which opened on Thursday in Mie prefecture, Japan, is in the world spotlight. The summit is seeking ways to deal with the global challenges of a gloomy world economy, terrorism, territorial disputes, climate change, and possible depletion of fossil fuel.

The world economy tops the summit agenda, which will also focus on G7 foreign policy. According to Japan’s foreign ministry, participants will discuss the fight against terrorism and extremism, the migrant crisis, Middle East issues, the Korean conflict, Ukraine’s crisis, and maritime security, as well as Africa’s development problems, UN sustainable development goals, improving healthcare, and the empowerment of women.
