Top Palestinian negotiator Azzam al-Ahmed said that the two sides had agreed to the agenda and the talks would be held by the end of October after the Jewish and Muslim holidays. Ahmed said that the negotiations would include a cease-fire extension, ending Israel’s 8-year blockade of the Gaza strip, and Gaza’s reconstruction. Talks between Hamas and Fatah on ceding power to the Palestinian unity government are expected to be held in Cairo on Wednesday and Thursday.
