German Chancellor Olaf Scholz begins visit to US
(VOVWORLD) - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz set off Sunday for the US, his first visit to Washington since he took office.

On Monday Scholz met with President Joe Biden to discuss security issues in Europe, Germany's priorities as president of the Group of Seven (G7), the COVID-19 pandemic, global trade, and bilateral relations between Germany and the US.
Later Chancellor Scholz will visit Ukraine and Russia to try to de-escalate tensions in Eastern Europe.
