(VOVWORLD) -President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife left Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday evening, ending their two-day State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.

During his stay in Vietnam, President Steinmeier held talks and joined a banquet with President Thuong; met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.
At the talks and meetings, Vietnamese leaders expressed their belief that the visit would contribute to strengthening friendship and political trust and creating motivation to advance the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership. They affirmed Vietnam values and prioritizes developing relations with Germany.
President Steinmeier reiterated his wish to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade-investment, energy transition, labor and vocational training, and development cooperation, as well as closely coordinate to contribute to peace and regional and global cooperation.
The German President visited the Temple of Literature in Hanoi and talked with groups of students and trainees preparing to go to Germany for study and work. He also paid a working visit to Ho Chi Minh City.
