(VOVworld) – A get-together of former Hoang Dieu citadel national salvation youths took place in Hanoi on Saturday. The event organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Liaison Board of former Hoang Dieu citadel national salvation youths marks the 68^th anniversary of the August Revolution on August 19 and the National Day on September 2^nd. The former revolutionaries recalled their hectic activities and glorious feat of arms. Under the leadership of the Hanoi Party Committee, members of Hoang Dieu citadel national salvation youths coordinated with other revolutionary forces to conduct the uprising, creating confidence and encouragement for people all over Vietnam to  rise up to wrest back power. Their activities included distribution of leaflets, dissemination of information on Vietnam at schools, markets, and factories and organization of meetings and demonstrations. Le Duc Van is a former member of the Hoang Dieu citadel national salvation youths: “The revolution culminated in a meeting of 20,000 people who raised the red flag with a yellow star in the middle. Demonstrators were enthusiastic with revolutionary spirit, chanting “Support for Viet Minh” and “Independence for Vietnam”. I myself joined that demonstration”.
