In its latest World Economic Outlook report, the IMF said it expects global growth in 2024 to remain at 3.2%, consistent with its July projection. Meanwhile, global output is projected to expand 3.2%, 0.1 percentage point slower than the July estimate.
Global growth in the medium term is expected to slow to an average of 3.1% over five years, well below the decade before the COVID-19 pandemic. “Five years from now, global growth should reach 3.1% - a mediocre performance compared with the prepandemic average,” said the IMF report.
