Government aims to reform administration and fight corruption
The government’s regular meeting for December took place in Hanoi on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Cabinet members reviewed what was done in administrative reform, corruption prevention, the realization of international commitments, and the compilation and drafting of laws and ordinances last year. Cabinet members discuss measures to improve the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, income tax extensions for small and medium-sized enterprises and businesses which employ a large number of workers. They also share their view on the need to adopt a government Decree on management of gold trading.
During the meeting, cabinet members also contribute opinions to completing the Project to improve the performance of state-owned enterprises. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said: "It's is undeniable that the state-own enterprises must exist. But they need to focus 65% of their finance on the major activity. At the same time, the inefficient enterprises need to be closed".
