Government allocates emergency aid to flood hit areas
(VOVWORLD) - Flooding triggered by storm in central Vietnam has killed 94 people, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said at a government meeting in Hanoi on Monday to mitigate the aftermaths of natural disasters.

He said despite prompt rescue efforts, many people are still missing.
"We must not leave any victims hunger, cold, or homeless. Maximal safety must be secured for the people and rescue forces. The whole political system must get involved while organizations and philanthropists should support flood victims in the spirit of ‘The haves help the have-nots’. Top priority should be given to evacuating people from high-risk areas,” he said.
Prime Minister Phuc requested that the safety of dams and reservoirs must be ensured. He agreed with a proposal to give 4.4 million USD to each of the affected provinces including Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh to help repair houses and infrastructure.
