(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government has approved a project to support offshore fishing and send fishermen to other countries to have their seafood processed.
From now until 2020, the project will be piloted in Quang Ngai, Tien Giang, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, whose fishermen will be sent to Brunei, Papua New Guinea, and Micronesia to cooperate in catching, processing, and marketing aquatic products.
From 2020 to 2025, the project will expand to other regional countries and countries in the Pacific Ocean that have fishing agreements with Vietnam or are under the management of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission or the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission.
