(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Health and Vietnam Social Insurance reported to the Government on Wednesday the implementation of the Law on Health Insurance and the Project on Ensuring Health Insurance for all until 2020. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the Party and State pay special attention to caring for people’s health, especially for poor and ethnic minority people and social beneficiaries. Dung said ensuring health insurance for all helped to promote social equality and protect people’s right to access fundamental services. The Prime Minister urged further efforts to achieve the set target of providing 75% and 80% of the population with health insurance by 2015 and 2020. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said:“Party committees, administrations and organizations should be more aware of their responsibility to ensure health insurance for all. For example, the Farmers’ Association should increase awareness about health insurance and even serve as health insurance agents. The Farmers’ and Women’s Associations have effectively contributed to getting credits to the poor and their members. In this regard, social organizations should work on plans to encourage the public to buy health insurance”.

The Prime Minister asked ministries, sectors and localities to exert more efforts to ensure the progress of the health insurance for all project. He said the government would issue a Directive guiding this process.
