(VOVworld) – The government meeting for April opened in Hanoi on Thursday. Cabinet members discussed a draft government resolution on Vietnam’s business development. The resolution targets approximately 1 million businesses by 2020 with the private sector contributing 48-49% to the national GDP. It says all businesses should be able to access resources such as capital, markets, land, and business opportunities.
In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the resolution will protect business rights and remove unnecessary barriers to business development. He added that the resolution is intended to eliminate discrimination between FDI, state-owned, and private businesses. Prime Minister Phuc said the Vietnamese Party, state, and government consider private businesses a driving force in increasing the competitiveness and self-reliance of Vietnam’s economy.
He assigned the Government’s Office, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the task of completing the draft resolution, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval.
