(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired the government’s monthly meeting for June on Monday to assess the socio-economic situation in the first half of this year and tasks for the coming months. The Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that during the reviewed period the economy has continued recovering with improved results. The macro-economy has been stabilized, while the consumer price index has increased slightly. The GDP growth rate was 6.28%, the highest rate in 5 years.

The Prime Minister said socio-economic results in the reviewed period have improved people’s trust. He asked the leaders from ministries, provinces, and sectors to actively implement a government resolution on major tasks and solutions to carry out national socio-economic tasks to obtain higher results than in the first half of the year. He also asked them to contribute initiatives to the implementation of solutions to obtain a GDP growth of at least 6.28%.
He said that in the coming months, ministries, sectors, and localities should closely follow the negotiations on free trade agreements, manage the market, and generate more opportunities for people and businesses.
He asked the provincial Party committees and authorities to unite to fulfill this year’s socio-economic tasks, successfully organize the Party congresses at all levels, and further improve people’s living conditions.
