(VOVworld) – Greece’s new government must ensure people’s trust and sense of safety, said the spokesperson of the new Greek cabinet Olga Gerovasilis at the new cabinet’s swearing in ceremony on Saturday. She reiterated Greece’s current difficulties and tasks to meet reform requirements in exchange for the international bailout package, saying in such context, the government’s work will be evaluated through practical results. She said the government must now focus on improving the situation to generate people’s trust.
In this latest reshuffle, key government positions including Ministers of Home Affairs, Economy, Finance, Foreign Affairs and Defense were kept unchanged. Other changes aimed at removing those opposed to the austerity measures that Greece will have to implement under its international creditors’ demands. One of the key figures in the new line-up was Alternate Minister for Revenues Tryfon Alexiadis, an experienced tax expert, who takes over from Nadia Valavani.
