The labor union decided to strike with the Greek government to protest new austerity measures that led to extremely high record of unemployment rate and economic crisis. The nationwide strike lasts for two days which coincides with the European Union summit. Protesters criticized the burden of economic crisis imposed on private labor and retirees, whereas tax evasion is excluded. They said that reducing revenue, high tax rate and declining demand is destroying enterprisers and employment.
