Hai Phong: 13-root banyan recognized as national heritage
(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment presented a certificate on Sunday recognizing a 13-root banyan in Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong province, as a national heritage.

The tree has the largest number of roots ever recorded for a banyan in Vietnam. Legend has it that there once was a shrine beside the tree worshipping Tho Vuong, who helped to found and defend the village. This is a spiritual destination for visitors from around the country.
