(VOVOworld) – The port city of Hai Phong is seeking UNESCO recognition of Cat Ba archipelago as a world natural heritage as part of the 3rd annual Red Flamboyant festival to be held in early May in Hai Phong.
With more than 300 islands, Cat Ba archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve and has typical characteristics of Asia’s biggest limestone islands. The white-headed langurs of Cat Ba are now endangered and protected by many international organizations including UNESCO.
