Hanoi International Film Festival presents 117 films

(VOVWORLD) -The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) opened on Thursday evening at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi with the premier of Vietnamese film “Once Upon A Time There Was A Love Story” by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh.

Running until next Monday, the festival will screen 117 films of 51 participating countries and territories, including the United States, France, Germany, Sweden, Russian Federation, Denmark, Norway, China, and Japan.

A variety of topics and methods of expression will address global issues, diverse aspects of social life, as well as portray the beauty and unique customs of a nation in the world.

Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee, co-chair of the Film Festival's Steering Committee, addressed the opening ceremony, saying “Following the success of previous six festivals, the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival features a number of countries and territories, as well as diverse genres of feature films, documentaries, and animated films."

"There has been a upgrade in both quality and scale, involving films with diverse colors, unique and creative styles of expression, becoming one of the largest international film festivals held in Vietnam. This is also an opportunity for outstanding domestic and international producers, directors, and artists to spread their professional passion, explore opportunities for production cooperation, and expand the cinema market," Ha said. 

Participating films are screened at the National Cinema Center, BHD Star Cineplex, and CGV Mipec Tower in Hanoi.
