Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh said the Prime Minister’s upcoming trip conveys many meaningful messages to sub-regions, regions and the international community. It is expected to enhance political trust between Vietnam and the Mekong sub-region, while creating a breakthrough for cooperation in the new development phase.
“At these summits, in addition to traditional issues, the Prime Minister and other leaders will focus on discussing new issues, of which innovation is prominent. These new areas of cooperation are a strong impulse to position the GMS, ACMECS, and CLMV as pioneering mechanisms to elevate the Mekong sub-region to a new level in the regional and global value chain,” Binh said.
Prime Minister Chinh's working trip will maintain the strong momentum of Vietnam-China relations. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Binh, during his working days in Yunnan and Chongqing, the Prime Minister plans to meet with major partners with potential for cooperation with Vietnam at all levels and promote areas of cooperation consistent with Vietnam's new development priorities, like science and technology, innovation, intelligence, digital transformation, and green transformation.
