Hanoi piano competition prizes announced
(VOVworld) – The 2nd international piano competition has concluded in Hanoi. 10-year-old Phan Thien Bach Anh of the Vietnam National Music Academy won the first prize in the A group. The runners up were Nguyen The Vinh and Taiwan’s Huang Rung-Jiuan. Kim Hye Jun and Chon Sae Yoon from the Republic of Korea came first and second in group B. The first and second prizes in the C group of higher level went to 2 contestants from Japan, Jitsukawa Asuka and Nakamura Fuyuko. Professor Tran Thu Ha is Head of the competition’s Jury Board: "In this competition, the quality has much improved in all groups. Performing with an orchestra accompaniment is a great challenge for the contestants, especially the Vietnamese. I’m most impressed by the group B which includes many competent contestants".
