The event, co-hosted by Hanoi authorities and Vietnam Airlines, is expected to draw 400 athletes from 27 Hanoi district teams. They will compete in men’s, women’s and mixed categories at West Lake. Hanoi wants to make West Lake a key tourism area with this dragon boat racing festival as one of its highlights. A music performance will be part of the festival. Before the racing takes place, the athletes will join a bike parade along the shore of West Lake. Vietnam Airlines and Hanoi authorities have jointly organized a series of cultural and tourism events recently, including “Vietnam Airlines Classic - Hanoi Concert 2017” and “Vietnam Airlines-Spring take-off”.
