(VOVworld) – In the first half of this year, Hanoi welcomed more than 11 million tourists, including 2 million foreigners, an increase of 33% against the same period last year.

In 2016, Hanoi is expecting more than 21 million tourists, including 3.7 million foreigners, and a revenue of more than 2.6 billion USD, 8% higher than last year. Tran Duc Hai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, told a VOV reporter about measures to promote tourism in the second half of the year: “We will boost domestic and international cooperation, while promoting PR in major foreign tourist markets. We will also strengthen the State’s management and improve the quality of human resources. Our department will participate in international fairs in Japan and France in September, in the US in October and the UK and November”.
From now until the end of the year, Hanoi will host major tourist events such as the Hanoi-Vietnam traditional handicraft village tourism festival, the Ao Dai traditional dress festival and a program called “Hanoi memory”.
