HCM City closely monitors immigrants
(VOVWORLD) - Nguyen Thanh Phong, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has requested that local departments and agencies remain alert to the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic due to a recent increase in the number of infections in neighboring countries.

At a meeting between municipal authorities and the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Monday, Mr. Phong called on every ward and commune to closely monitor immigrants, and local police are urged to co-ordinate with the army to ensure security when putting illegal immigrants into quarantine.
As of April 10, 7,500 people in Ho Chi Minh City had been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
