(VOVWORLD) - As Vietnam’s economic center, HCM city wants and is ready to contribute to boosting Vietnam-US ties, said municipal Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen during talks with visiting US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on Sunday.

Nen told Sherman that HCM city is looking for US investment in high-tech, smart city development, healthcare, finance, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
Municipal authorities are committed to supporting and creating all favorable conditions for foreign businesses’, including US businesses’, safe, effective, and long-term operation in the city, said Nen.
Deputy Secretary Sherman suggested that the two sides promote cooperation, especially in energy, the environment, high-tech, and education.
