At a meeting with outstanding OVs in HCM City on Saturday, Hieu called on overseas Vietnamese to contribute to development orientations, strengthening economic and administrative institutions, building special mechanisms and policies, infrastructure investment, and human resource development.
Tran Tue Tri, an OV in the US, expressed her wish to work with the municipal authorities in promoting the city's brand.
She said she hopes the Ho Chi Minh City administrator will be more drastic and resolute to encourage overseas Vietnamese people to join hands to turn opportunities into achievements.
On Friday, the delegation of OVs laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument and paid tribute at the Ho Chi Minh Museum. They visited tourist and cultural attractions in the city, participated in social and charity activities, and attended an art program to mark the 55th anniversary of the 1968 General Offensive and Uprising.
