Some “green zones” in Thu Duc City have allowed food shops and household traders to open. Hoang Tung, Chairman of Thu Duc City People’s Committee, said: “We have to abide by instructions of Ho Chi Minh City’s authority to resume production only when it’s safe. Because the COVID-19 pandemic will continue complicatedly, pandemic prevention must be the first task.”
Some businesses and factories in Can Gio district have also resumed operation. Can Gio Tuong Lai Cooperatives processes about 500kg of aqua-products everyday, an increase of 30% compared to its productivity before September 15.
Director of the Cooperatives Huynh Van Thanh said: “The social distancing order has been eased so travel now is easier. Our productivity has increased. But a lot of fishermen don’t go to the sea, we have to buy material from other provinces to meet our production demand. I hope the situation will be better soon so supply and demand will be more convenient.”
