Ho Chi Minh City promotes poverty reduction for ethnic groups
(VOVworld) - Ho Chi Minh City has hosted its 2
nd Congress of Ethnic Minorities to promote poverty reduction and social welfare for ethnic groups.
Delegates called for more vocational training and job creation, especially for women, while granting 50% of healthcare insurance fees for ethnic people. Ethnic school teachers and ethnic language training facilities will receive support. A Chinese ethnic, Huynh Hai, was pleased to hear that poor ethnic students will benefit from a tuition free policy: “We are delighted about care and support policies by the Party and State for ethnic people. This will help use improve our living standards.”
Certificates of merit were given to 58 organizations and individuals in recognition of their contribution to municipal unity.
