Luong Thanh Nghi, Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told participants: “The Homeland Spring program means a lot to Overseas Vietnamese and it has been organized for 12 years. The program shows the Party and State’s care for the Vietnamese community abroad, who is considered an integral part and resource. This is also a chance for overseas Vietnamese to return to the homeland for welcoming Tet and family gathering. The event also helps boost exchange between overseas Vietnamese from different countries. This is the time for Vietnamese abroad to express their sentiment and aspiration to the Party, State and local leaders as well as seek business opportunities”.
The Homeland Spring 2020 program takes place in Hanoi and Bac Ninh, taking visitors to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, offering incense in House No 67 in the President Ho Chi Minh relic site, laying wreath at Bac Son Martyrs Memorial and offering incense in Do Temple in Bac Ninh province.
