Addressing the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Vojtech Filip, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, said the event marks the friendship between the Czech Republic and Hai Phong. He congratulated Mr. Pham Truong on being appointed Honorary Consul in Hai Phong, saying that he hopes Truong will help promote the two sides’ cooperation.

On Wednesday, Secretary of the Hai Phong’s Municipal Party Committee Le Van Thanh said the city pledged to foster cooperative relations with the Czech partners and open a direct flight route from Hai Phong to the European country. He said Hai Phong hopes the Czech Republic will provide support in construction, underground transport, and electric vehicle development.
