Houthis attack US, UK warships, launch missile attack on Israel

(VOVWORLD) -The Houthi group in Yemen fired missiles at a British ship in the Gulf of Aden, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said Monday in a televised statement aired by Yemen’s TV channel al-Masirah.

The group also launched a drone attack against an American destroyer in the Red Sea. A Houthi spokesman said the attacks hit and damaged the ships but did not give further details.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense said Monday that Israel’s Arrow long-range missile defense system successfully intercepted a ballistic missile attack by the Houthi group. The Houthi missile was shot down outside Israeli airspace while on a trajectory toward the city of Eilat in southern Israel.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense said this is the 6th time Israel’s air defense system has successfully intercepted a long-range Houthi missile attack since fighting began in the Gaza Strip last October.
