(VOVWORLD) - One of the iconic community tourism events in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue opened on Tuesday as part of the 4-season Hue Festival.

The "Rural market on festive days - Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge" program is happening in Thuy Thanh commune from now until Friday, and visitors will have the opportunity to experience the life of farmers, row a boat on the Nhu Y river, and explore garden houses, local dishes, folk art, and traditional crafts.
Built in 1776, Thanh Toan Bridge is completely different from modern bridges thanks to its architecture. The architectural style “house above bridge” is seen in only a few places in Vietnam. The large ground at the two bridgeheads is a venue for community activities in Thanh Toan village.
Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue said the province is developing a new community tourism model in Thanh Toan.
“The program showcases the daily life of local people. It anticipates Vietnam’s full reopening of international tourism,” said Mr. Binh.
Thua Thien-Hue got the green light from the government to allow in foreign tourists under an ongoing trial vaccine passport program.
From March 15 all restrictions on inbound travel will be lifted, with foreign visitors allowed to travel freely to and around Vietnam.
