Hun Sen affirms the soundness of his journey to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime
(VOVWORLD) - Cambodia’s Fresh News on Monday reported that June 20 marked 45 years since Samdech Techo Hun Sen and four comrades came to Vietnam to seek help to liberate Cambodia from Pol Pot’s brutal genocidal regime.

On Monday, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a ceremony to mark the 45th anniversary of the Hun Sen’s liberation journey in Memot district of Cambodia’s Tbuong Khmum province.
Fresh News quoted Khmer historians as saying that without that effort by Hun Sen and four patriotic Cambodian officers, the Cambodian people would have had little chance of escaping Pol Pot's brutality.
Mr. Hun Sen recalled that at that difficult moment he had some options but decided to seek help from Vietnam and it was the best decision.
