(VOVWORLD) -The International Atomic Energy Agency’s chief said Tuesday that he is still hopeful for a deal between Iran and world powers to revive the 2015 nuclear pact but that talks are struggling and the moment could be lost.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi warned Iran that it is not being transparent enough about its nuclear activities. He said that in the last few months traces of enriched uranium were found in places that have never been declared by Iran as places where any activity was taking place.
In 2015, Iran signed the JCPOA with the P5+1 group (the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany). However, President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the deal in May 2018 and re-imposed sanctions on Iran, leading to Iran gradually reneging on some of its commitments.
