Ukraine’s national power company Ukrenergo said the power supply to the Chernobyl plant failed and could not be restored because of fighting in the surrounding area.

The nuclear energy company Energoatom said the cooling system of the storage facility for spent nuclear fuel will stop, increasing the risk of radiation leaks.
