IMF continues to lower its global growth forecast
(VOVWORLD) -International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Thursday the chance of global growth falling below 2% next year is increasing due to continued effects from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and simultaneous slowdowns in Europe, China and the United States.

Georgieva told the Reuters conference that she was particularly concerned about the slowdown in China because the world's second-largest economy has been a strong engine for global growth. She is expected to visit China next week to discuss the economic outlook and Covid-19 policies with Chinese leaders.
The latest global growth forecast by the IMF is lower than the previous forecast in October and reveals the deepest decline of economic growth since 1970.
