According to the UN, with the current population growth momentum, India could have 1.7 billion people by 2064.
The increase will bring certain advantages in labor force for India, but the government will face many challenges in ensuring food, accommodations, and medical and educational conditions for the people.
It is estimated that about 800 million Indians are receiving government subsidies.
China’s population, for the first time in decades, was reported to decline last year due to a low birth rate. According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, its population fell by 850,000 in 2022.
