The two countries on Friday fired across the cease-fire boundary, known as the Line of Control (LoC), which splits the Indian and Pakistani-administered parts of the Himalayan region.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated just five days after three Indian soldiers were killed in a gunfight with Pakistani soldiers along the LoC.
