(VOVworld) - The India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee on Wednesday issued a statement supporting the ruling of the Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands, in the suit the Philippines brought against China’s claims in the East Sea.

According to the statement, the ruling is an important milestone towards peacefully resolving territorial disputes in the East Sea.

In the statement, the Committee called on the Chinese government, to accept and respect the verdict for the sake of peace, harmony, and the national sovereignty of other countries.

If a country does not abide by international law and acts unilaterally, ignoring the just cause of neighboring countries, it creates chaotic conditions and endangers peace, not just of the region but of the world, the committee said.
