Indonesia arrests 11 in terror strike plots

An Indonesian anti-terror squad arrested 11 militants who were plotting a series of strikes — including an attack against a U.S. embassy. The suspects, who are believed to belong to a local group of Islamic extremists, were busted in the capital city of Jakarta. Indonesian police said they recovered a number of bombs, and explosive materials. They also discovered a list of targets which included the American Embassy in Jakarta and the Australian Embassy. The plots against the embassies come a month from an attack against a U.S. consulate in Libya, which killed an ambassador and three other Americans. Officials with Indonesia’s national police force said the suspects were part of a new terror group that calls itself the Sunni Movement for Indonesian Society.
