(VOVworld) – A 2-day international seminar on the history and development of Buddhism in the Mekong delta will open in HCM city on Friday. Vietnamese delegates and 40 scholars from the US, China, India, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Srilanka, and Bangladesh, will attend the event.
Rector of the HCM city University of Social Sciences and Humanities Vo Van Sen told a press conference on Monday that the seminar had received approximately 150 presentations from both Vietnamese and foreign researchers. The presentations will discuss Buddhism’s development and integration in Vietnam, its heritages and culture, and environmental protection in the context of globalization and sustainable development.
