(VOVworld) – Construction of a project to build an international passenger terminal in Da Nang began on Sunday. The 175 million USD project will be built on an area of 21,000 square meters and once completed it is expected to handle 4-6 million passenegrs a year.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat said bidders and investors should work harder to complete the project in time for the APEC Summit in Da Nang in 2017: “The project is part of Da Nang’s transport infrastructure development plan from 2011 to 2020. This has been the first project using private investments in Vietnam’s aviation sector. It will be a precondition for domestic and foreign airlines to join hands in tapping domestic and international routes, attracting more foreign investment, creating an impetus for growth in the central region, and serving future major events in Vietnam.
