Participants raised the solutions of each sector and put forth an inter-sectoral program. They called on the Steering Committee to promote studies on international trends and practices, saying Vietnam’s institutional improvement must be compatible with international standards.
Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said, “Capacity building on international integration must be enhanced for officials from central to local levels. It’s necessary to strengthen the delivery of international commitments to which Vietnam has joined, actively participate in the negotiating international rules and laws, especially regional rules to protect national interests and boost national priorities.”
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha asked the Steering Committee to give advise on global and regional agreements in culture, society, science, technology and education and training.
“We must map out a vision for our future international integration strategy with priorities in each of our inter-sectoral areas. More effective plans should be adopted to promote new initiatives and agreements. It’s necessary to review the agreements and treaties that we have signed to institutionalize and legalize them,” the deputy PM said.
