Iran parliament recognizes Jerusalem as Palestine's capital
(VOVWORLD) - Iranian lawmakers have approved a bill recognizing Jerusalem as the permanent capital of the state of Palestine. The motion was passed by a vote of 187 to 15.

Earlier, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued their own declaration recognizing East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. At the recent OIC summit in Istanbul, Turkey, leaders of more than 50 member countries declared US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel null and void and a damaging blow to Middle East peace efforts.
