(VOVworld) - Iran is ready to offer help to its neighbors and other regional countries to eliminate the threats of terrorism, President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday, as the country marked the 34th anniversary of the war with neighboring Iraq.

Rouhani said Iran was ready to help other regional states upon their request, as Iran has helped the Syrian and Iraqi governments in the fight against terrorism.
On Tuesday, a number of Iranian senior commanders hailed Iran's military capabilities to counter threats, particularly those posed by terrorism. The Commander of the Iranian army, Major General Ataollah Salehi, said that the Islamic Republic's armed forces were fully ready to defend the country in the face of enemy threats. Meanwhile, the Commander of Iran's army ground force, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, said that terrorist groups operating in neighboring countries would face Iran's crushing response if they attempted to cross any borders into Iran.
