Iran’s First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri was quoted by media as saying that the government of President Hassan Rouhani had already devised means of countering the impacts of US sanctions on the country’s oil exports. Jahangiri emphasized that Iran had serious plans to maintain a rate of oil exportation of over one million barrels per day. He said Iran exported as much as 2.5 million barrels per day of oil at times over the past months. While there may have been declines, Iran’s exports would not drop below one million barrels per day, he said.
