(VOVWORLD) - Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said on Thursday that Tehran may walk away from the historical nuclear deal with world powers and consider other options if the US withdraws, Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera reported.

The statement followed repeated threats from Washington to quit the nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, between Iran and the P5+1 (the US, Russia, Britain, France, China, plus Germany). Under the deal, Iran agreed to limit its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of nuclear-related sanctions.
